TICKETS GO ON SALE THURSDAY MORNING FOR CBI CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES OPENER AGAINST BRADLEY

Former Missouri Valley Conference rivals meet for the first time since 1996 MVC Tournament

March 27, 2008

Tulsa, Oklahoma - Tulsa will play former Missouri Valley Conference rival Bradley in the Championship series of the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) next week. Tulsa will host the first game in the best-of-three championship series on Monday night, March 31, at 7:00 pm at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Tickets for the opening game in Tulsa go on sale Thursday morning (March 27) beginning at 8:30 am at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. Tickets for the game are available online at www.tulsahurricane.com, by calling 918-631-GoTU (4688) or stopping by the Reynolds Center ticket office.

Ticket prices are $20 per seat in the lower bowl, $15 per seat (lower bowl behind west basket and in upper level sides of the court), $10 (upper level corners) and $5 per seat in section 111. Groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets for $5.00 off either the $10, $15 and $20 ticket price. All seats are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The second game in the championship series will be played in Peoria on Wednesday, April 2 at 7 pm, and if necessary a third game will be played on Friday, April 4 at 7 pm (all times are central time zone).

Tulsa advanced to the championship series with a 73-69 victory over fellow Conference USA member Houston on Wednesday night. The Bradley Braves went on the road and defeated Virginia of the ACC by a score of 96-85.

Tulsa and Bradley both were members of the Missouri Valley Conference together until the Golden Hurricane left the league after the 1995-96 campaign. This will be the 100th meeting between Tulsa and Bradley. The Braves lead the overall series 60-39. It's the fourth-longest series in school history for Tulsa, following Wichita State (119 games), Drake (118) and Oklahoma State (103).

The last meeting between the two teams came in the 1996 Missouri Valley Conference Championship Game in St. Louis, Missouri, as Tulsa claimed a 60-46 victory.
