Mission Statement:
The Golden Hurricane Club is an association of fans for The University of Tulsa who promote and support intercollegiate athletics through participation at games, events, and in fund raising programs to strengthen all athletic department programs and achieve excellence in all sports.
History:
The Golden Hurricane Club has been the backbone of efforts to support the athletics department at The University of Tulsa since 1930, when it was founded by business and community leaders in downtown Tulsa. Its original mission included funding uniforms for the marching band, securing a trained drum-major, organizing a cheer squad and selling football tickets. In 1976 the club was relocated to the TU campus and renamed the Tulsa Hurricane Club. Another name change occurred in 1987 when the club became known as it is today: the Golden Hurricane Club.
In recent years, The University of Tulsa has made a strong financial commitment to intercollegiate athletics. The university now subsidizes 135 athletic scholarships each year. The Golden Hurricane Club supports the non-scholarship needs of the athletics program such as travel, equipment, and recruiting.

Giving Methods
Memberships begin with a minimum donation of $50 to over $20,000. All gifts go to support our student-athletes and are fully tax deductible less the value of any benefits received. Please call the club at 918-631-2342 with questions or comments.
- Gifts - Donations may be made by check, payable to The University of Tulsa or by credit card, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express. You can join on-line at www.utulsa.edu/hurricaneclub.
- Pledges - You can pledge your donation and set up a convenient payment plan.
- Matching Gifts - Many companies match an employee's charitable donation. A matching gift will count toward your club membership. Contact your personnel department to see if your company offers such a program.
- Insurance Policies - An individual may assign policy ownership to The University of Tulsa allowing the policy proceeds to be transferred to the university at his or her death. The individual's annual gifts must exceed the premium payments.
- Wills and Bequests - Copies of wills may be sent to The University of Tulsa indicating an endowment to The University of Tulsa Golden Hurricane Club.
- Every dollar raised is precious and we are grateful for your gift.
